So, turns out a “modified” BC560 with “CHiPs Detector” is really a thing. The instruction manual was branded “Gray”. A company called “Colt” also rebranded the units as the Colt Z28. It was tuned to the vehicle extender frequencies of the California Highway Patrol cars.
The first Uniden scanner with BearTracker tecnhology which alerted users to a police vehicle nearby was incorporated into the BCT2. Wonder if this single state notification technology was the predecessor to the BearTracker Technology?
